A Invisible-in-the-Canal (IIC) starts its life as an ear impression of your ear canal

Completely in the Canal

CIC hearing aids are one of the smallest and most popular hearing aids available. They are custom molded to fit inside your ear canal making them mostly invisible to the outside observer. The CIC allows you to choose between automatic or push button settings, which are programmed directly into the hearing aid.

In the canal (ITC)

Custom hearing aid that fits in the ear canal. Smaller portion shows in outer ear.

In the Ear (ITE)

In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids are also known as custom hearing aids, as they are individually manufactured to suit a person’s ear. They range from the so-called Micro-CIC instrument, which fits completely in the ear canal, to the full-shell hearing aid, which completely fills the bowl of the ear.

Receiver in the Canal (RIC)

Essentially a two-piece detection system, the RITE hearing aid can be comfortably worn either behind or on top of the ear while a thin, discrete wire connects it to a tiny receiver in the ear canal.

Behind the Ear (BTE)

A behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid hooks over the top of your ear and rests behind the ear. A tube connects the hearing aid to a custom earpiece called an earmold that fits in your ear canal. This type is appropriate for people of all ages and those with almost any type of hearing loss

Pocket Model

Worn in a pocket or harness at chest level. It consists of the body of the hearing aid containing the microphone, amplifier and controls. A cord transmits the electrical output to a receiver, which converts this signal into sound. The receiver is attached to a mould, which holds it in place.
